Fatherhood Resource Hub
Peabody College of Education and Human Development
Fathers play an important role in the lives of their children, families, and communities. Building on research that demonstrates the importance of father involvement in children’s lives and the changing role fathers play within families, organizations across the country have developed programs and services to support fathers.
Our home state of Texas recognizes the important role that fathers play in the lives of their children and families, and understands that many fathers face challenges to remaining involved with their children. For any organization invested in the wellbeing of families, including organizations that provide services solely to fathers, parenting-focused organizations, and organizations that provide services to the whole family, the resources on this website will help support your efforts to serve fathers and support families.
Texas Fatherhood Summits
From 2016 to 2021, the Department of Family and Protective Services’ Prevention and Early Intervention Division (PEI) and the Prenatal-to-3 Policy Impact Center co-hosted annual Texas Fatherhood Summits. They brought together service providers, policymakers, community stakeholders, and scholars to exchange ideas and work together to develop a comprehensive approach to supporting Texas fathers and their families.
